👋🏻 Hello there! Long time, no post… What can I say, life has been manic and I've had to juggle some things for sake of my sanity over the past few months.

✏️ A new month today and September always feels like a great opportunity for a reset after a busy summer - definitely got that new pencil case feeling! The school holidays have been great and we've had a lovely holiday and a couple of mini-escapes, but my health has taken a back seat and it's time to focus on me for a bit.
.
☺️ I love the idea of self-care September, all about bringing a bit of balance back with nourishing food, a more consistent exercise routine and some pampering to get my glow back. Starting as I mean to go on with a salad for lunch, with some lamb kofta kebabs and homemade tzatziki.

🥗 The weather has been lovely the past couple of weeks and whilst it isn't exactly warm out, I'm starting to enjoy a few salads at lunchtime. Even though I'm working from home, I'm often busy on calls so don't have all that much time to prep lunch, so I make two days at a time and then just dress it when I'm ready to eat it.

🍊 Today I have some roasted butternut squash, roasted red onion, fennel, orange (I made a dressing from the juice), salad leaves and some feta cheese.

🥦 Eat your veggies! A really simple way to improve your health is to up your intake of fruit and veg, especially veg. Most of us are falling way short of the optimal amount for good health and many people don't get anywhere near their five a day.

🍅 Filling half your plate with veg is a great place to start and what better time than breakfast? I would recommend eating bacon too often, but it's fine occasionally and adding tomatoes, spinach and mushrooms means I've ticked off 3 portions of veg first thing.
